Celebrate equality and diversity with the man that started it all in America - Abraham Lincoln!
This shirt was inspired by the Emancipation Proclamation, which allowed America to become a diverse country. The rainbow color scheme is inspired by the concept of diversity. On the right side of Lincoln, there is a quote from the Proclamation, "Thenceforward and forever free", and things Lincoln pushed for for African Americans before he was killed, like voting rights and public schools. On the left, the different colored faces represent the different kinds of people that became free as a result of the Proclamation and all future actions for equality in this country. A broken chain in the corner signifies the end of slavery.
In the center is a beautiful multicolor drawing of Lincoln. His colorful hair was drawn on paper first and then scanned in, where the striped area was drawn. Like my other designs this was drawn at print size. This design is the largest and most complex design I have ever created, taking close to 30 hours to draw.
This shirt generates many compliments and by wearing it, you are helping tell the story of both Lincoln and the kind of society he wanted - one that should welcome all.
Designis screen printed onto a kelly green adult unisex 100% cotton Los Angeles Apparel T-shirt. Made in the USA, no slave labor, the way Lincoln would want it.
